Meet Olivier Depooter
I was born on September 4, 1972 in Braine-l'Alleud, Belgium. A large part of my life took place in Nivelles where I studied at the Collège Sainte-Gertrude.
Towards the beginning of my adolescence, Art started to take an important place in my life quite naturally. Poetry, writing and painting have been with me ever since.
A few years ago, I discovered Mons, a city full of resources, where I found love and got married. During my walks in the city of the Doudou, I discovered all the richness to be found there in terms of emotions, architecture and stories.
Photography, or rather the art of transforming an image of everyday life in such a way as to give it an impression of unreality or of an impressionist painting.
Self-taught artist: Presenting an artistic approach is something so difficult, because each human being perceives what the artist is trying to transpose as he feels it. What one discerns through one's eyes is unique to each individual.... My way of working with photography, or rather photographic art, is so subjective that describing it is difficult, if not impossible. What I propose to do is simply to explore my vision of the world or rather what I perceive through the lens and to share it.
