Alhama de Granada was founded in the 9th century by the Moors, it was a major city which guarded the route between Malaga and Granada.

In the year 1482 it was the first city to be captured In the 10 year war for Granada. Today this beautiful Andalusian city is still thriving place to visit although it's towering walls and towers have long since disappeared.
