Pour son voyage inaugural le 4 octobre 1883, celui qui était alors baptisé « Train Express d'Orient », devait partir de la gare de l'Est à Paris pour traverser l'Europe en direction de Constantinople. Surnommé « Le Roi des Trains, Le Train des Rois », il était le symbole de l'innovation et de l'élégance, mais aussi un mythe qui s'est construit à travers la littérature et le cinéma. Le train n°469 est entré une dernière fois en gare le 12 décembre 2009.

For its inaugural trip on October 4, 1883, the train, which was then called "Train Express d'Orient", was to leave from the Gare de l'Est in Paris to cross Europe in the direction of Constantinople. Nicknamed "The King of Trains, The Train of Kings", it was the symbol of innovation and elegance, but also a myth that was built through literature and cinema. The train n°469 entered the station for the last time on December 12, 2009.
