Meike van Riel is currently working on a series of large canvases, continuing her exploration of simplicity and solism. This simplicity is reflected in the use of color and compositions. Many layers and hues, all in the same color line. This gives a simple and calm image at a glance.
These are ten works measuring 1.25 meters by 1.25 meters. The diverse and minimalist works all seem to represent one color, but those who look closely will discover color nuances and fathom the composition. Van Riel challenges the viewer to take the time to read the work.
