In this diptych I worked with the subject of vanity. Inspired by the traditionals still-lifes of vanity, I used aspects of fruit and flowers, as well as the hourglass and the skull. These are all aspects that cannot be missing from a painting with this subject.
Apart from that I approached this subject with the idea of a mirror, of the self-reflection of a vane human, looking at the vanity of life and her inevitable future. This painting asks questions about the need for material possessions.
