My main passion lies in landscape paintings. I’m so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world, giving me such stunning landscapes from the mountains of Snowdonia to our gorgeous beaches. The unique Welsh weather gives such a sense of feel when incorporating it into my paintings. Anglesey also has amazing architecture and landmarks, like the Menai Bridge, to Llanddwyn Island or our historical Welsh castles. All of this inspires my work, and now I look at things differently. For example; looking at distant mountains makes them to appear blue, as green or yellow doesn’t travel well through atmosphere, so greens become desaturated and appear to be blue. This atmospheric perspective blows me away and it gives my paintings lots of depth. I love the violet colours of snow, the spray dancing on the top of a breaking wave or the reflections in still water. Learning how to do these techniques and seeing these perspectives has really opened my eyes to the world and so painting helps me show you how I look at our environment.
