The Abyss work stems from a profound reflection on the infantile and adolescent way of the female species
it represents the deep anguish that a child, a teenager find themselves living in many highly urbanized contexts, in families in difficulty but also in normal schools or advanced countries where the pressures for a girl are enormous, difficult to bear. Where love and respect, joy and peaceful guidance are often lacking, where those who know each other often become an ogre and executioner and life is a hell where perhaps it would be better to jump into an abyss.
The painting depicts a young girl dressed in veils and ballet shoes who instead of dancing happily she plunges into a metaphysical, imaginary, boundless and unknown abyss.
The image is suspended, almost breathless, a moment of waiting for an inevitable tragedy.
