The slanted position of the body inspired me to sketch some waves around it: the infinitive waves of eternity. I kept the focus on the body while tuning down the values in the waves a little bit. I find the combination of waves and the female body quite attractive. Therefor I kept the shapes in roundism style with only a square structure in the leg as a singe anomaly.
Since quite some time now I became fascinated by the implications of golden ratio theories. They are everywhere. Holy Vortices stemming from them and so I employed them earlier, like in Holy Vortex! – 05-2018. I tell my students that, once you know, you see them everywhere, just as buying a red Porsche makes you see red sporting cars around you all the time.
I came to realize they are not to be found in my body but the ratio was there first. It composed my body. Can I put it this way: we all are the ratio incarnated? It is the cutting edge between maths, physics and real life or is it? Could it be there is no difference at all. If so, would the ratio also be decisive in decision making, even ruling our social lives? It could be that the truth is staring us right in the face all this time. There has not been another truth.
Personally I find this drawing to have become a curious combination. It consists of cubism, roundism, realism and surrealism, all wrapped up in art deco-like chiaroscuro (clairobscur). The curly waves also remind me to Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) a bit. Maybe Alphonse Mucha can agree. So what you do you think about crossovers like these? Drop me a line sometime.
